Good News! The NFIB Ohio SAFE Trust (National Federation of Independent Business) has endorsed my candidacy for State Representative. While their office will be notifying the media shortly, I wanted to share this good news with everyone right away. Here is what the NFIB said, “Your knowledge and sensitivity to business issues were key factors in our endorsement process. We believe…you will be a positive and proactive voice on behalf of small businesses while in the Ohio Legislature.” I am thrilled that one of America’s leading business advocates has endorsed me and I look forward to helping to rebuild Ohio’s economy when elected. -Jeff

Join us for a joint Kasich/Krabill door-to-door blitz! We were honored to be the first to be asked to do such an event. The Kasich team has targeted Huron for this event. It will take about 3 hours and begins at the Southport Professional Bldg (304 Williams Street/Huron) with a conference call with John Kasich. Their team is sending about 30 volunteers up from Columbus for this blitz. We’d like to match that. Please join us. The more folks turning out, the bigger the job we can do and the easier it will be for everyone. If you can, e-mail us if you plan on helping. We’ll probably have some juice and rolls there for sustenance. Email ludwig.devon@gmail.com with questions or call 419-602-3345.

School funding has been cut to most of Ohio’s districts for the first time since the DeRolph decision

Schools like Sandusky, Port Clinton and Danbury are all being whiplashed by the new HB1 (EBM) funding scheme, and

Sandusky will lose over $7 million annually when the current EBM is fully implemented.

But this isn’t enough havoc for one term in office. In his recent newsletter my opponent states, “We have also created a Renewable Energy School Pilot Program that promotes the innovative green energy industry in Ohio by requiring targeted school districts to install solar panels on their buildings. This commonsense measure will save money for Ohio schools and Ohio taxpayers while advancing our role in the alternative energy economy.” Several points about this statement jump out…

If an industry is truly “innovative”, it doesn’t need state government to force it on us.

“Requiring” schools to install anything is a mandate and flies in the face of a free society.

Where does the funding come from for these solar panels? Is this just another mandate being forced on local taxpayers?

“Commonsense” isn’t exactly what I would call a top down, Columbus-knows-best solution. Commonsense in America comes from the people.

As for saving money, no it doesn’t. What it does is shift the cost to a different taxpayer’s pocket. Frankly, whether that money is from Washington or Columbus, their hand is still our pocket.

This is all more of the same from Dennis Murray. But who is paying the bill?
